AI Visibility: Brand Tracker is operated by Understory. Merchants choose shopping questions; the app asks them of an AI model, keeps each answer, and shows how often the merchant's brand is named or their site cited. This policy explains what the app touches and why.
The store's name and primary domain, and the titles and types of up to 100 active products, to suggest questions and to recognise product names in answers. It does not read customers, orders or payment information, and it changes nothing in the store.
Each question the merchant chose, the country and language they chose, and nothing else. No customer or order data is ever sent. Questions are answered by an open AI model running on Cloudflare Workers AI, which does not use them to train models.
The merchant's brand settings and questions, and for every answer: the text, the sources and citations returned, the model used, when it ran and what it found. For the store we save its plan and an expiring access token.
Plans are handled by Shopify. The app reads which plan is active. We never see payment details.
Cloudflare hosts the app, stores the data above and runs the AI model that answers the questions. We do not sell merchant information, and we do not use it for advertising or marketing.
Answers are kept while the app is installed so results can be compared over time. On uninstall the access token is deleted at once. When Shopify asks us to erase a store's data, 48 hours after uninstall, everything the app saved for that store is deleted. The app holds no customer data.
